Yes, all civs will be playable. And why shouldn't they? If you want to play as a nation that will be destroyed in the first 10 turns of the game, go ahead ;)

Thats one package of info!

As all advanced units (tanks & aircraft) will be national, everything from the French FT-17's to the German King Tiger will be buildable by any nation that doesn't have its own units of that class.

Daniel, those are nice pics, but they are quite useless for now, because without official Civ4 SDK released, very rarely someone makes some new Civ4 unit model :(

Like I said, it's your choice... I don't know how complex will be the final version of this mod.

About 10 min. destruction:
If you will script events, Romania will stay neutral until Nov 1940 (good time to build an army) when Germany will attack Russia and by that time most of the German army + Hungary divisions will be on the border with Russia (Romania also share border with Russia)
Don’t forget also that Romania was a key position for Germany in invasion of Russia for Odessa corridor and especially for his rich resources of oil (near Ploiesti city). Germany have desperately need of this oil.
So, with good script, resources and other this mod could give a chance of every nation involved in this war.

For neutral country such Switzerland maybe a victory condition will be something like: never going to war and a net worth bigger than x.

About SDK:
Civ3 also don't have the SDK and people still developed good and very good units.

It took over 2 years to create good units into civ3, and becides they were 2d-movie files, these are 3d-files with a weird format.

I was talking more about Poland/Baltics ;)

I'm not going to script certain dates that wars will begin. Maybe detiorateing relations, but no wars (except the Winter War) will begin without the human/ai wanting it. Yes I'm very aware of the importance of Romania, and that is why they have 2 oils in their borders.

Some benchmark events should be included though.

Like:

Spanish Civil War (1936)
Marco Polo Bridge Incident (1937)
Anschluss (sp?) of Austria (1938)
Germany demanding Danzig (1939)

I must profess to not reading much of the thread, thus I don't know the timetable, if it starts in 1940 obviously those I listed above couldn't be included. Still, major major events should be included to 'guide' the game to a somewhat historical course.

Actaully very never ;) Unless its a re-skin.
Check Civ4 SMAC mod at apolyton. There are some 5 or 6 new unit models made.

so hum guys as i'm giving the map final touch I was wondering what should I do with the ''free-city of Danzig'' a.k.a. Gdansk...

Since german troops had to make an amphibious assault on the city from the sea while the polish were already there I think the city should be handed to the Poles at the beginning of the game....

Edit...I gave Danzig to Barbarians so that the first civ to get there will have it . In real life it was close but the poles managed to get there first...now I dont know I think the germans play first

Plus if I load the mod Paaski and than the map all the capitals cities are ****ed up...like Tanger is the capital of France and Gotland becomes the capital of Sweden...it goes like that for all the civs..

Yes, all none-european events will happen at the correct time with a +- 5week random.

It begins on 1st of Sept, 1939.

What is this Marco Polo Bridge?

The Marco Polo Bridge incident was the cause for Japanese invasion of Northern China.

Non-European events will have the randomness and not the European ones? That's pretty Eurocentric, perhaps I'm misinterpreting you.

Some events can't really have a 5 week period. If you guys are going to have a event setup Vichy France then it should happen immediatly once the conditions are met.

Also, I believe that only major historical events should be included. Events giving free units to nations to make them tougher is silly. Their difficulty should be accurate through having them set up correctly and not through cheap events.

"cheap events"
ok but whats wrong with scripting units if at the start it allows the game still be playable on low spec PC's as you no longer need to place 100's of units or whatever.

Im prob wrong though.

The non-european events will happen with a 5-wekk randomness. The europeans will happen only when certain condition is met (Germans get Paris: France joins the Axis, etc)

Also, the British will be getting shipments from the US (guess what the US units are for?) & Canada + S-Africa, India, A&NZ, etc. The USSR will start getting them too if they go to war with Germany (in which case they join the Allies). The size of shipments will increase with the Lend-Lease act being signed (this will also have a +-5week random)

And placeing 100's of units in the beginning would be stupid :p

I remember Civ3 scenarios with more units just for one civ in beginning :D It was so boring to move all those units
