WWII Swiss M°18/40 Rifleman (Neutral) v.1.0
x_SwissRM_default.gif

get it here, at my units section (post 5)

Note: To all you WWII-Scenario experts and What-if-World builders- here is your genuine Swiss Rifleman Soldier as appeared in the period of WWII.

"Switzerland proclaimed neutrality in World War I and was not involved militarily in the conflict. Neutrality was again proclaimed in World War II, and although a German intervention was both planned and anticipated, this event ultimately never occurred. The massive mobilization of Swiss armed forces under the leadership of General Henri Guisan in opposition to the Nazis is often cited as a leading reason for why Switzerland was able to escape the fate of most other western European states. Modern historical findings such as the research done by the Bergier commission indicate, that the other major reason was gold trading done by Swiss banks. So Switzerland once again managed to escape the war without being a part of major fighting. However, Swiss neutrality was somewhat violated by both Allies and the Axis in respect to airspace. Switzerland shot down both Allied and Axis airplanes."

What if the mayor powers would have forsaken their reluctance and decided to invade the Swiss Kantons- would they have faced several million Swiss, prepared to fight? Only way to find out is to download this unit ;) Njoy!

Interesting scenario, I’ll have to add this to my WWII mod and see what happens if they are provoked.

These units are great indeed, I'm especially looking forward to the Legion Etranger... But what about doing some "fictional" also, so it would fit in with Zulu, Babylon, Iroqois etc in a normal game of civ? Or perhaps just a "very generic" one, with different skin tones...

Yeah offcourse... What I meant what that specific culture, if that culture wasn't influenced or ran over by others. Anyways, I'll stop bugging you with this, this and all the others are very nice units.

Looking forward to the Legion Etrangere (and the rest too)
