I am kinda inspired by this pic over here I just scanned from my book. (note the scared looks on those Greeks' faces?...no? LoL me neither I think the Italians had a massive PR problem those days)
My grandfather, who died recently, fought in the war as many others.I remember him telling me stories from many battles that he fought, always with a sad feeling on his face which i think is common, for those who really experienced the terror of a war.
But he was always smiling when he brought back memories from the first days, when everybody jointed up to move to the front. He used to call it "The grand festival".Why?
Well,at the time just before the Italian invansion,Mussolini provoked Greece with every possible mean.He laughed at the Greek army(which was outnumbered and poorly equiped)proclaimed from the balcony of Palazo Venezia that he would send "41 million spears" against the beggars of Greece and conquer it within 3 days.
But it was one major incident that made everyone furious.
It took place during a period of peace when on August 15th 1940,the submarine DELFINO,approached in safety while submerged the swift cruiser "ELLI", anchored and decorated with flags in front of the harbour of Tinos for the celebration of Virgin Mary, and sunk it with 2 torpedoes.
It is a fact that Greeks are very proud and that was it.Everybody wanted to go to war.In every picture of departure for the front at that time, you will see them smiling, because after a long period of humiliation and provocation from Benito they can finaly answer. And you know what happen after,on the mountains of Albania.
As for the unit i think that the one from your book is the most apropriate and accurate one from that period. Here is another similar
I am looking forward for this and the rest of your units.
