Did anyone else see the inagrual XFL games the other day? I didn't know quite what to make of them, it was all just too much of an assault on my senses, or rather the senses on my stupid side.

Scripted football games would be funny, I think. But they aren't.

Since i went to our school's bali hai, i missed the inagural xfl game(s?), but one friend of mine actually taped it, and after the first five minutes we turned it off and watched bikini hoedown on showtime.

The XFL sux big floppy donky ****! The networks had pushed it as "extreme football" but it was just panzy football. I didn't even see any big hits (although I only watched it for like fifteen minutes). The camerawork was absolutlely pathetic too. I personally was ready to vomit afterwards just thinking of all the stupid and confusing camera angles.

One thing that is good about the XFL: the cheerleaders are wearing a lot -and I mean a lot- less.

It was not bad but not good enough to be a success.

The sideshow was good.Everything but the actual game was pretty good.
But what could one expect from players that were not good enough to make the NFL?

The timing is Xtremely ignorant.I'm surprised at McMahon for this. The "fan" is burned out of football this soon after the Super Bowl and play-offs.I would have backed it up a bit.I guess they didn't want to compete with B-ball or hockey playoffs.Or the Baseball season start.

The camera angles were way over done. You need the traditonal view to see whats going on.The "special" angles were ok but they should be used less for live action and more for replays.

I can't see this surviving. The USFL looked better than this.Had a few marqee players too.

The XFL was awesome! I watched the inaugeral game New York v. Las Vegas and there were some huge hits! The only thing i hate abotu the XFL is that they do interviews during the game pretty much after every play and you can here the play that the QB calls.

I saw that New York - Las Vegas game and thought it was okay.
The XFL should do quite well, since there are a bunch of guys like me who will watch anything to fill the gap between football season and baseball season. Also, I suppose it doesn't hurt that NBC owns half of the franchise.

Best and most accurate post I've ever seen!

I tuned in out of curiosity, and shut it off before the first quarter was over. It was boring football, nothing special. As was mentioned in a previous post, these are NFL wanna be's. If you want a league to compete with the NFL, check out arena football. It is fast and high scoring. I am sure I am not alone in considering Vince McMahon as one of the individuals who would make a great target at the shooting range, along with other obnoxious people who grace our airwaves, but that could be another topic altogether.

Scripted football would be funny.

"Ohh! ANd the QB goes down hard. And the linebacker is TELLING him about it in a big way! None of that crap with my QB, says the other teams coach, who sends in the backup QB to fend off the linebacker with a folding chair! But wait! THis guy wants playing time, so he's beating the snot out of his own QB! Who's lying on the ground!"

"It appears as though the DB and the saftey were both trying to get that cheerleader at the same time! Oh, wait, they are! The rest of the cheerleading squad is jealous, so they come running over to slap up that dirty h**!"

"Hahaha. What a crappy player. GET THAT BUM OFF THE FIELD! HEY! No, don't come up here! Lock the friggin' doors! Stop that guy! AHHHHH! He's got a Gatorade tub! Ow ow ow! Watch the mic, jerk! Put down that folding chair!"

What is this XFL, is that the Pro Bowl??
I only saw the Super Bowl - which I enjoyed immensely, but I was to drunk to watch the Pro Bowl.

No, the Pro Bowl is the NFL all star league ( I think ). The XFL is what happened when Vince McMahon and the programming directors at NBC got drunk and woke up the next morning with scripts in their hands.

The XFL is like Pro Wrestling (F A K E) mixed with football. There are rules, bnut things like fair catches are gone. Plus, they have bionic cheerleaders. If it was on cable, it would be better, because then they could show nudity.

To sum it up, you didnt miss much.
