XBOX - Game crashes when doing a Restart from menu

Start a new game (game options seem irrelevant).
Play a number or turns (again the number seems irrelevant).
Open the menu and choose the Restart option.
There is at least a 50% chance of the game crashing.

Happened on the base game, and with the Rise & Fall/Gathering Storm expansion.

Try getting rid of the unit animations, it's the setting that's also used to speed up the time between turns.
