Just during the Chinese Olympics, we have gotten a nice Chinese present, Xi Ling Shi. She's a Great Scientist, and the question is what will we do with her?

We can bulb her:
Spoiler :
Great Scientist:
Scientific Method
Printing Press
Chemistry
Astronomy

Spoiler :
If(Printing Press AND (Chemistry OR Astronomy)
{
Scientific Method
}
elseif(Printing Press AND Gunpowder)
{
Chemistry
}
elseif(Printing Press)
{
Astronomy
}
else
{
Printing Press
}

All of this assuming Optics and Education are ours. Note that only a part the tech is bulbed.

We can also settle him, use him for an acadmey or for a golden age.

I think settling her in Arkadia is best.

We are looking at getting Liberalism, giving either Astronomy or Printing Press. We need to think about how using our scientist fits in with this strategy, do we take Astronomy and bulb Printing Press for example? How far to getting PP would that take us?

I dunno actually, we'll be able to see that 2 turns from now.

Still, I prefer settling :)

I'd like to see the city screen of Arkadia if we do settle...

Astronomy, by far, we need a navy now, not later.
Do you mean use the Great Scientist to bulb Astronomy? if so I think we need printing press before we can do that, so that would mean take Printing press as the free tech from Liberalism. Taking Astronomy as the free tech from Liberalism and bulbing printing press would be more efficient.

I do like Furiey's plan. Get us what we want, yet is unobtrusive.

Liberalism>Astronomy and then bulbing PP would be much more efficient and would get what we all want. How many more turns would it take to get PP after bulbing it?

That's anybody's guess. From previous experience, I think the GS would bulb roughly half of PP.

That's what they mean by Furiey's plan, although not being able to run this game I couldn't tell you how close it would get us to PP either.

I am also in favor of Furieys' plan. After we take out babylon we will need a strong navy if we want to control the seas when there is no land left to conquer on our continent.
