    History of the Yassan Province

-Excerpt from the History of Arete
    -From the Yassan historical records
After the Yassans arrived in Arete they were shunned by the local population that saw them as no more than civilized barbarians. A few stayed and helped the locals master farming. The rest of the Yassans headed West back towards their homeland. After centuries of wandering the Western territory they came upon a great field of wild cattle. Domesticating these animals was by now common knowledege and they saw the potential of settling is this land. Here the Yassan Province was erected and the people have thrived even until this day.
Now the Civius' had always been a friend and family to the Yassanites. Civius' had taken many Yassan wives. The men of his bloodline had been fierce warriors and stellar diplomats. The Children still hear stories of the famed "Negotiator", a massive club wielded by Civius the First over 3000 years ago. After the fall of the Warlord Faction Civius pledged his loyalty to the Arkadian Dynasty that was formed just North of the Yassan Province in the City of Arkadia. He also pursuaded the Yassan Principalities to do the same. The Yassans soon after named him Prince of the Province and the Land Tribunal granted him rights to the land under the Kings authority.
