OK, I am trying yet again to win on Monarch. This time with Sitting Bull. Big/small,standard,epic,techbrokering off, spacerace off, Agg ai.

I plan to move 1S to settle. This loses the piggies and one seafood but gives me 6 hills and the stone. if I farm the 2 non-hills (the 2nd with CS) then I should be able to work all 7 of them at pop 11 if I can get some :health: resources. 5 food from the seafood (with lighthouse) 3 each from the farms, 2 from the city square, and one each from the three grassland hills and the plains stone. That totals 22 food. The city maxes out there until biology. Then it can go to a whopping twelve. But it will be a production beast. My early strat will be to build a couple work boats then a worker while i research mining>BW>masonry>wheel>myst>hunting>archery

If I have a close neighbor then I can whip/chop doggies for a rush. If I have room to expand I will build walls and CG3 archers and a few doggies so i can turtle up and build some cheap stone related wonders. If thewre is noone close by, I may delay BW and get the stone hooked up asap so I can grab both stonehenge and the GW.

I would suggest settling in place. Food is the key and passing on 2 excellent sources for some production is not a good idea (pigs are across the water but I bet you drop a city near it later and will get them hooked up sooner than you realize). Also you are philosphical, so you want amximum food to run several specialists, especially if your going to be building wonders in that city. You'll have plenty of production by mining 3 hill and quarrying the stone. You can drop 2 cottages on those grasslands.

Sitting Bull starts with fishing/agriculture, right????

You can delay the hunting/archery aspect and go for pottery/AH/ Writing first. Dog warriors require no resources so copper in a non-issue. Go after Hunt/Arch only if you have some psycho AI nearby. You can leverage the totem/protective trait later.

Your start and leader scream pyramids. You defeinitely want early representation to leverage the philosphical trait, as well as the 3 happys. Going after stonehenge and great wall would be fine, just don't underexpand or miss the pyramids over it.

Build: I would go workboat, workboat, worker, dog, settler, dog. No need to waster hammers on a regular warrior

Looks to me like you have a golden start custome made for Sitting Bull, don't fould it up by moving.

Settle in place. Excellent GP farm. you can always move the capital to a higher production or better commerce site later. Sitting Bull is Phi, so you shouldn't pass up on such an awesome GP farm. 2 plains hills plus the stone is enough production for the early game. And you have plenty of food if you want to whip too. Pyramids is a very good idea with the stone. If you are lucky, you will find a second city site with lots of forests and can buld it there.
