I was bored, so I decided to run yet another "proof of concept". Namely, that it's possible to win a max diff slowest speed game. It's not a new challenge, but it was sufficiently long ago now.
So, no Barbs, and not so much because of them being too hard, but rather because they increase the turn lag by a decent chunk, and I hate waiting between turns, lol.
Well, here we go.
1. I was sufficiently lucky to get Neanderthals, which was a huge boost to my strength level. I didn't "cheat" in any sense - this was literally the first random map start after the save-breaking fix. I just got lucky, lol.
2. I had been "thrashing" around aimlessly for a while, because I was reminded soon enough that Eternity punishes you for overextending, and does it FAST. So, no "conquering the world in one sitting", sigh.
3. Okay, so I can't expand indefinitely, Eternity is infinitely too slow to be of any help in Culture conquest, so what do I do now? Well, I play "border gore", loool.
4. Meaning, once I was able to relatively easily capture cities, I started "juggling" them to random civs. I also did some "capture-gift-recapture" schtick, but it got boring soon enough, so I stopped.
5. I continued to "capture-gift" cities to random civs, then realized that a much better idea would be to focus on ONE civ, while eliminating everyone ELSE (via city-donations to that civ, OF COURSE).
6. I semi-randomly chose Mongols for this role - they were a top civ already, and I find it FUNNY given their real life history, lol. So you can see how bloated Mongols are. And that's WITH Revolutions.
7. Speaking of which, loool. Every here and now, Mongols get a revolt, which then escalates into a revival of a once dead civ (from the donated cities, obviously). It's FUN to watch them struggle, mwahahaha.
8. Not much more to say - just take a look at my Generals, ya know. Funny enough, even they are NOT exactly overpowered yet. A well-entrenched-and-merged Archer totally dismisses even these guys, really.
Kinda, that's it, lol.
