The duel between Yoda and Sidious in Revenge of the Sith was fun but I thought Yoda's decision to give up was kind of odd. Didn't he have a slight edge in the fight? Why give up all of a sudden?

Sidious threw him down to the bottom of the Galactic Senate's floor. He may have been too exhausted from the extended fight to carry on. He has to use the Force even to move.

All of the yoda fight scenes were trash in my opinion.

Yoda was much better when he was this mysterious, wise old little creature and you knew he was so powerful with the force that he was WAY WAY above using a lightsaber or anyother weapon.

In AoC and RoS Yoda is turned into somekind of CGI cell phone commercial dancing mascot.

For the same reason that Obi-Wan told Anakin to quit during their final battle at the end of the same movie: he was in zugzwang. The course of the battle had led to him being in a position from which he had no conceivable advantage, and any move would have been a move to a worse position. We saw what happened when Anakin tried to push it; Yoda, being the wise old...thing that he is, didn't, and fled, there being nothing more for him to accomplish there.

Why didn't he use the force to expand an artery in Sidious' head or something?

Lol, I just got this image of blood randomly spurting from the bad guy's head. It was hilarious.

My personal view is that if it was in one of the six movies that have been released to the theaters, it's canon. Otherwise, no.

Who decides what is canon? Is there a Jedi Council to oversea this?

It's all very simple.

Original Trilogy = Canon

Everything Else = Crap

This is the same movie that said Padme died because she lost the will to live. Abandon all sense, ye who enter here.
