I would like there to be an option to make my own music playlist for different eras, civs, diplomatic status (i.e. war and peace), etc.

I knew somebody was going to say that.

Just voted for your first poll option ;)

Btw spontaneously I'd take Enigma for Middle Ages, Tschaikowsky for Renaissance, Prodigy or Eurythmics for Industrial Era, Depeche Mode or Muse for Modern.

Civ 4 had folders for each era, all you had to do was throw your mp3 in that specific folder.

Hehe Enigma used to sit right at the top of my last.fm "most played" list, solely because I always listened to them while playing Civ4.
Dead Can Dance were another one, they are great for Ancient era.

I doubt we can do this now, with steam checking to make sure all the files are in the up and up. I think a mods the only way.

Ya, you can buy it at D2D or amazon etc, but you'll need steam to run it. Most have got past it, there was a big uproar at first, but lately not so much, if at all.

This is a completely baseless concern. For example, in L4D2 I replaced the menu background with the video of Micheal Jackson's Thriller.

Just what do you think a mod does if not alter files?
