Well I finally got my typical one city lost to cultural flip in my current game. It was on the border with Persia and revolted and pledged allegience to the Persians. Or at least it attempted to, but was rebuffed by the Persians. Twice :) Guess the Persians want to keep me happy with them. They are the largest power and I am second behind them. Guess those periodic gifts of gold has kept them happy with me (while I drain their vaults selling tech to them).

Though after the first rebuff I moved all but one infantry out of the city and instead placed them in a fortress just behind the city to guard my empire instead.

Why not teach them a lesson a starve some heads into submission?? ;)

"Maybe you should".

Well it is only a pop2 city, so can't starve it too much, plus its occupents are all happy. I mainly placed it to grab some of the former German territory when the Persians were cutting that civ to pieces.

you lucky bastard! never had my revolters rebuffed (but i guess that because when my cities go it normally is a captured one with lots of military in it...)

Yeah, I was thanking whatever higher being was looking over me when the Persians rebuffed the revolt. Was ready to cry when they attempted to revolt the first time as I had a large garrison in there. Me and the Persions have a highly militerized border

Really pisses me off when they take the garrison with them....they just dissapear.

Definitely! I always load my autosave and make sure to move my units out of the city, so at least I'll have my units.
