"If you don't hand it over quietly, I'll have no choice but to take it by force."

Has anyone ever came across AI demands like this? I must say, this is the first time I ever seen the AI demand something from me in the most brute manner possible.

What's with the Check Infoaddict?

I'm using InfoAddict mod. Well, first time.

It's a really great mod you should use if you haven't, because everything becomes so much clearer with the factbooks and relationship triangles.

e: also, only using this mod, and this mod shouldn't affect anything else than just showing stuff that you wouldn't get with vanilla demographics...

Ooooh nice...not using mods though hence the question.

OT - nope never did. There seems to be a lot of those diplo screens that rarely make it into the light of day. I got a request to denounce another civ, now you have a demand. These AI can be really comical at times. :twitch:

Never had this either. Does it only happen with DoFs, or just powerful/threatening AIs?

Well, it was just around... Turn 30-40 on Epic, IIRC. No one had denounced or DoFed yet. Basically I had just settled two cities into the direction of Hiawatha, and once while I was just getting a worker to finish an iron mine, he came in with that demand.

Note that our militaries were slightly equal (was pumping out warriors after warriors for the inevitable Tabarnak)

Well, in my deity game caesar vanted to trade open borders. I decilened. Next turn, he DOW me.

I've never seen AI demands in civ V; I'm wondering if the InfoAddict mod turned on code that is normally off.

I have seen this once, maybe twice. Don't recall under exactly which patch, but for sure without any mods.

I played without mods and had this about three or four times. I believe it was Caesar, Elizabeth, Catherine and Hiawatha or Napoleon. I always refused and was DoW'ed on the next turn. I wonder if I submitted and gave the AI what it demanded, for how long would I postpone the DoW? :D

I don't think I've ever had this happen on Civ 5, or the demand to denounce someone either.

I haven't gotten things demanded from me before either.

I have played Civ V for a long time without any mods. And about 6 months ago I installed infoaddict and have used it for most games since. I have always wondered if it changes the code. But from what I can tell it has not affected game play at all, it just shows you more information. After playing many games with infoaddict I do not seen remember the AI ever demand something so aggressively.

I think it might be becasue my military is ussually strong enough to prevent them from doing that, they will just declare war becasue the AI knows it can't bully me? I don't know I'm just speculating. But I'm thinking if your military is weak they will try to bully you and may not just simply declare war on you, basically make you a de facto vassal. It's an attempt at making the AI more complex and dynamic.

I'm curious about what your military strength was compared to Iroquois at the time he made that demand.
