You have suffered an embarrasing time limited defeat (help)

So I had this really cool but very long game of Civ III PTW going over lan with a custom map. On year 2050 I get that message regardless of how I try changing the game limits before launching. I even took a hex editor to the saved game file but no luck either.

So how can I

A) Possibly continue the current game?

or

B) Create a new scenario that won't bug out at 2050
