I'm in the mid-late game and juist built the UN. I'm aiming for a diplomatic vote and the first voting round has just passed. However, I'm not able to achieve the 'you have wisely chosen your civic' bonus with Sitting Bull.
I'm in Environmentalism now for 20 turns or so and it still isn't showing any merit. Does somebody have any idea to achieve this bonus? Or another way to have him vote on me instead of my competitor?

Thanks for any replies!

Is he in Environmentalism too? If not, he probably can't adopt it yet. Try gifting him medicine (or biology? whatever tech enables it).

That also has the added affect of "Trade relations have been fair" bonus (assuming it has not been maxed out yet).

Ok, Thanks. I will try that as soon as I'm back in the game.

After searching the forums and not really finding the answer I have another question on the diplomatic victory:
How many turns are there between the voting rounds, in other words how much time is there to manipulate your rivals?

Assuming you've built the UN but you're not eligble for a diplo victory because you're too small or too unpopular, what other significant use do the UN Resolutions have?

Also it does take some time to build up the modifier to it's peak. At least it did for me, justinian took like a century to get all the way up.

A resolution can be proposed [by the AP/UN Resident] every 10 or so turns. Vote for Diplo Victory is one of the possible resolutions... So if you are the resident you can have a vote every 10 turns.
If you are not, then you are probably not going to win Diplo either...

Annoying the hell out of you with dumb resolutions... Or making you Loose Diplo Victory - depends on how insignificant you are...

Here's a idea... put the Resolution for Environmentalism in place and you don't need to gift it to Sitting Bull.

I think you can't push such a resolution, unless all members have access to the civic.

But good point anyway, making sre SB actually runs it.

Nope. I've had situations where a resolution to make a civic mandatory was put into place even though a civ didn't have access to that civic via the tech.

Matthew5117 is right, I have been made to take a civic by UN vote when I haven't researched the tech.

It would be good if you get given the tech as well though seems strange to adopt a system that I have no knowledge of... ;)

I am almost certain that you are wrong here. In fact, that is one of the reasons why you might want such a resolution passed IMO, but I have never benefitted from it, so I can't be sure.
