Yes, I'm old so back when I was young there were only 3 major networks so most everyone watched the same shows. I wanted to pay tribute to some of the old classics and even some new ones so here we are. List your favorite episodes from the Sitcoms you remember fondly.

I'll start with a few OLD OLD classics.

The Dick Van Dyke show
The episode where Laura outed Alan Brady's baldness.
The seen where Carl Reiner is talking to all of his wigs cracks me up every time.

The Mary Tyler Moor Show
The episode where Chuckles the Clown dies and everyone is trying to keep a straight face during the memorial. When Mary finally loses it, everyone does.

Sienfeld
Episode (any but the last one)
The Soup Nazi may not be the funniest, but is always the most memorable.
NO SOUP FOR YOU.

Cheers
Episode when they have the bar Olympics with Gary's
Runner up, the snipe hunt with Frasier.

And for the more modern
Big Bang Theory.
The scavenger hut. It was nice to see the dynamics of the teams.

Ok, now it's time to list all the modern ones that are from streaming services that old foggies like me have never seen. Descriptions are preferred. Just saying the season number and episode number will be considered rude.

Feel free to argue the best episodes for series that you disagree with.

Favorite ep of the Simpsons has to be Last Exit to Springfield

Father ted. The eurovision episode, a song for Europe. It has me dying every time I watch it.

Gilligan's island does Hamlet

I remember Chuckles the Clown from MTM, Chuckles had a run in with a circus elephant that shelled him like a peanut. Chuckles funeral fittingly became a laughfest as people could no longer remain solemn.

Seinfeld - the contest

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Contest

The 4 main characters see who can go the longest without masturbating and Jerry's dating a virgin. Kramer's at the window peeping at the neighbor woman walking around the apt undressing. Kramer urges her to slowly take off her clothes as Jerry's on the couch trying to ignore her and him by singing along to a child's cartoon, "the wheels on the train go round and round".

Barney Miller, Wojo's new hippie GF bakes some hash brownies and the crew gets stoned. In another episode internal affairs is investigating a crime and the crew take lie detector tests and Dietrich shows why they cant be trusted by claiming he was born on another planet without triggering the machine.

Taxi - On a similar theme, the cab drivers accidentally consume speed or some other drug. A fast talking Alex Reeger wants coffee so Tony Danza's character walks over to the large refrigerator sized coffee machine and picks it up and brings it back to Alex.

WKRP in Cincinnati - Thanksgiving day and Les Nesman is reporting on the radio station's promotion. A turkey drop from a helicopter. Wild turkeys can fly, these weren't wild. Les describes in horrific detail as turkeys plummet to their deaths.

why did I use apostrophes

I vote for Marge vs. The monorail.

Friends. The one where Chaedler suggests Joey to use Joseph Stalin as artistic name. Can not remember the name

How I meet Your mother: The naked man. Works 2 out of 3 times.

Big Bang Theory: The raiders minimization. The one where Sheldon and Amy watch Raiders of the lost ark

IT Crowd: The dinner party. Can't stop laughing with the Peter File dialog.

Fresh Prince: the one where Will and Carlton get arrested while driving a car. Let my people go!

"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly"

Married With Children. They get caught having sex in cctv and sue.

Also season 2 or 2 when they go to the holiday camp in Florida.

Favorite episode of party down is probably joel munt's big hollywood party (may have the title wrong)

Favorite episode of community is hard to pick, elemental chaos theory is up there, so are the paintball episodes and the dungeons and dragons episode and the pillow war episode...

Always sunny, it's likely The Gang Solves the North Korea Situation although all of season 3 is jusy fantastic

Eastbound and Down has got to be season 3 episode 7

Community you need a top 5 or 10.

Paintball and the D&D ones IMHO.

Gilligan's island does Hamlet

I've always liked this episode! :D

Mind you, I'm familiar with the music they used (a couple of songs from the opera Carmen and "Barcarolle", from "The Tales of Hoffmann"). My Grade 7 music class put on our own production of Carmen (sorta; we got as far as a rehearsal that our families were invited to, and my grandfather's opinion was that "somebody needs to teach those boys how to march." My grandmother liked the music.

"Barcarolle" was one of the pieces I remember learning when I was taking music lessons.

Whoever thought of combining Gilligan's Island with opera was a genius. :D

The Office - Training Day

Spaceman came down to answer some things...
The world gathered round from paupers to kings...

Yeah, this is my favorite episode of any show out there. It never gets old.

A close second would be the Married With Children Christmas special "It's a Bundyful Life". I love Al's rendition of "The Night Before Christmas" in that episode.

I know that this is totally wrong of me in today's political climate, but one of my favorites was an episode of The Cosby Show where Denise makes a special shirt for Malcolm Jamal Warner. Can't watch it now, but it was a scream at the time.

Seinfeld - The Contest (of course)

Cheers - Any episode with Lillith Sternan Crane in it.

Frasier - The one where Frasier is dating an actress (Sela Ward). She forbids him to tell anyone or take her picture. He finally grabs a picture of them together in bed with predictable results.

Any episode of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Taxi - The story behind Reverend Jim and how he got that way.

Taxi - Reverend Jim does his driver's test. "Whaaaat doooes aaa yelllloow liiigghht mean?"

WKRP - The one where Johnny Fever and Venus drink and take a sobriety test on air to judge the effects of alcohol and how it slows reaction time.

lol, Reverend Jim - slow down!

I remember the sobriety test on WKRP now, good show and it had Loni Anderson

I liked Lillith too. One Cheers that comes to mind, a young Woody Harrelson accidentally got hypnotized into following someone out the door with a 6 pack of beer.

I loved Get Smart, not an unfunny episode in the whole series. I need to see if these old shows are playing somewhere like Nik at night

I can't remember individual episodes of any TV for crap. I'll just throw out Happy Endings, Schitt's Creek and You're the Worst as some great, underrated/underappreciated sitcoms.

First three are great, haven't watched Eastbound and Down.

Like Zelig I have forgotten. There’s some great episodes of New Girl I can’t remember I will shout out to.

But I’ll never forget this golden scene of Captain Planet

Some of the episodes of Three's Company that involved physical comedy (ie. Jack attempting to figure out how to balance in a hammock so he can take a nap) are just as funny as an old episode of I Love Lucy (in fact, Lucille Ball appeared on Three's Company in an episode featuring the funniest aspects of the show).

Some of the episodes of Are You Being Served? wouldn't be considered acceptable nowadays, but I still enjoy most of that show. Even the odd bit of dialogue in Keeping Up Appearances isn't quite PC these days. But the show is still fun, and part of my weekly Saturday night TV viewing.

So? I remember watching TV in black and white. Such was life in the 1960s in this region. It was a big thing when we had two channels and a choice of program, rather than "take it or leave it."

Now I've got dozens of channels and only watch half a dozen, plus a couple on a seasonal basis.
