I'm off to the land of the long white cloud in a couple of months and just wondering what other people liked about the place?

Yeah all I can think of is that beautiful scenery in LotR.

We are going to be staying in the place where they filmed the outside scenes for the Isengard! :scared:

But I was looking for info from people who had been there already.

That's great. :goodjob:

We're going to be travelling round the south island going from;

Picton - Christchurch - Oamaru - Dundedin - Te-Anau - Fox Glacier - Greymouth - Blenheim - Kaikora - Christchurch

Have you been to any of those places, and if you had, what did you like about them?

Looks like you're going to much of the West Coast which is really nice, but do go to Queenstown. Its the best tourist spot in the country.

You must visit Queenstown. There's this ice bar there which costs like $27 per person. It's basically spending half an hour in an ice room drinking vodka and the sorts, they have some ice sculptures and other things in there.

There's also this Korean girl who works in a internet cafe called PC Station in central Queenstown. She's pretty good.

Finally there's also a chairlift and luge. They're pretty cool if you're not afraid of heights and go with friends.

New Zealand other than Queenstown and Auckland are just rollicking natural landscapes.

I greatly liked the Abel Tasman NP :)

and in the north the Coromandel Peninsula was my favorite

wherever ainwood is

From what I've seen of this place it looks like it's straight out of some pre-historic wildlife era. Looking forward to it as well.

Oh yea Milford Sound is a great place to get wet!

I wanted to do the Milford Sound track but it's a bit more than I care to pay for. :(

My favorite place in New Zealand is wherever my favorite kiwi CCA happens to be!

I live in Dunedin so as a consequence ive been to most of those places as theyre prety close to me.

You should definitely visit Queenstown, and dont leave your keys in your car:) .

Where's that?

Abel Tasman N.P. is near Nelson, at the northen end of the south island.

Coromandel is the Peninsula to the west of Auckland.
