On second thought, there's two even better solutions:
    1. To include links to other sites in the downloads section (if it isn't considered faux pas)
    2. To have a stickied thread in the subforum that has links to downloads and descriptions on the other sites.

The difficulties I had in TW sites were that the places were confusing, some of the links were dead, and I had absolutely no clue of the quality of the mods. The last reason is meybe the biggest why I suggest this: it's easier to pick from few options than many, and it's easier to pick when you know that all choices are good. Total War sites don't have the privilige to select the mods they host, but CFC can pick only the best ones.

So I'll guess starting a "Quality mods" thread and PMing Matrix about the possibility of getting it stickied would be a good start, right? This would perhaps be a good idea on other subforums too.

Don't add subscriptions, at least not how Chess.com do it. If you do, at least make sure the site's not in your face constantly. I'd prefer it as a donations box.

OT is like a pub - it could be like that place in the lord of the rings where everyone is jolly, or the location of a lot of fights

You could break down OT into different sub topics.

What's keeping you from going to the Science forum instead of just hanging out in OT?

What would be best to split off from OT would be religion and politics. Those discussions are the source of most of the angst in the forum.

The only thing that is the source of angst, cuddliness, or everything in between in OT is the people who post there. It doesn't make much difference whether you partition it up or not - the amount of angst/cuddliness would still be the same. And all that stuff is equally off-topic.

We already had a news subforum. It kinda failed. And the idea scrapped.

Is there a way to make it so that you can undo unsubscribe or require confirmation? It is annoying to try to find the thread to resubscribe.

That doesn't work. The thread is still removed.

Yeah, but once you've gone back button to the thread, (assuming you were there in the first place) you can use the thread tools drop down to resubscribe to the thread.

I do this all the time, usually with my subscribed forums, and although it only takes 20 seconds or so to get it back, it still takes time.

Anyone can do it. When you're in the forum, there's a forum tools drop down. Subscribe to the forum, and it shows up in your UserCP. You can get daily emails or no emails. The daily emails simply sends out a list with links on any new thread created that day.

I like it so that I can go to those forums I frequent via my UserCP without having to dig through them in the main page.

I know that, but I wouldn't want to trawl through that many threads. I admire you people a lot more now

If I'm on the User CP, there is no easy way to get to the thread. I sometimes accidentally hit the unsubscribe instead of the thread.
