I'd like to know what any of you would like to see in a Mod, Your Ideas for Mods.

Although I am not a modder, maybe some will see this thread and see any Ideas that have been Posted. Any Ideas, ANY. Full conversion Mods or regular Earth Mods. Please Post your ideas.

Which Civ 4 would you like it on? Vanilla, Warlords, Or BtS???

My favorite idea for a mod is to assign different abilities to different religions. The later-founded religions should have slightly better abilities in order to motivate players to actually found the late religions regardless of the prominence of hinduism and buddhism. I don't like the fact that Islam is entirely useless in every game I play, and a randomly selected 2 of Taoism, Christianity, and Confuscionism are also useless. In fact, I've never even played a game in which more than 1 AI had Islam, Taoism, or Confucionism as a state religion. It's always one of the first 3 founded... whats the point of having 7?

Edit: I also think they should have less UUs come early and more come late... too many come early, especially for civs that weren't even in existence when their UU is dominating.

Interesting

Alright I Will.

Actually, I'd like to see a LuKoMod with 18 playable Polish civilisations!! :D

Sorry LuKo, I couldn't resist! ;)

Post 50 is a good idea.

I also think that Dipplomacy can be revamped; especially in that you can use backdoor dealings(i.e. no one knows whether or not you signed a defensive pact or not, unless they're spying on you) If anyone here has ever play Avalon's Diplomacy, the model is about the same. Also, I would add the redlining for the player, so they could restrict offer. I can't tell you how often I've lost a friend over civics!
Another good idea

And another

Why can't Poles count as Russians or Germans or HRE?

I'm not freaking out that there's no Ireland, England will be good enough for me .

England with Ireland made a GB, so England can represent Ireland. That's why Poland can represent Lithuania. Russians and Germans conquered Poland (for some time)- they can't represent Poland, just like Nazi Germany can't represent France.

Good question. I play most mods when they are released but I always end up going back to the core game. This is because I read a strat in ther forums and then want to see if I can improve my gameplay with that strat. If I use it in a mod with big gameplay changes then I feel like I'm not improving my game.

This is why Chiyu's BTS Extra is such a good mod IMO. When you play it it feels a lot like the core game, but has some interesting features.

Too many civic changes and tech prerequisite changes and the game moves far from the original, so , I would recommend, small subtle changes to these, and some cool new units, which are not gamebreaking.

Definitely interface improvements and ethics units, city art style.

Next big thing is some new victory conditions. A new way to win the core game is IMO the best mod there is for example Sevo's Mastery victory condition.

England with Ireland made a GB, so England can represent Ireland.

Ireland most definitely is not part of GB! :crazyeye: :p

It was once part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1 January 1801 until 12 April 1927)

Great Britain means the countries of England, Wales and Scotland considered as a unit. The terms "UK" and "Great Britain" are not equivalent since the UK is a state formed from the union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

LuKoLuKoLuKo! Go read up sir! ;)

but they made an UK (OK, not GB), so they're represented.

No - Northern Ireland with GB made the UK..... Ireland was always a distinct Kingdom - thus when they were joined "The Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland"

That's one Kingdom of Great Britain (i.e. England, Scotland and Wales) and one Kingdom of Ireland united (which finished long ago), which is not the same as "The United Kingdom" of today.

The modern United Kingdom is a treaty between Great Britain and Northern Ireland - not the Republic of Ireland.

Therefore, saying that Ireland can be represented by England is tantamount to saying that Poland can be represented by Russia.

A) "England" never controlled Ireland - Great Britain did (same as Soviet Union analogy to Russia)
B) Distinct language, culture, religion, government etc surely qualifies it as an individual country?

I know how strongly you'd be arguing if someone had lumped Poland in with Russia!!

Sorry for threadjacking - but anyway, I think the OP has moved their thread now?

I wasn't talking about today situation.

Ireland was a part of UK (Poland wasn't part of USSR). One of Irish official language is English. BTW: Act of unity is something else than act of fragmentation :p
