That really annoys me. I mean what the heck, why is there a conspiracy to hide what transpired during the beta testing of a computer game? I mean, what, is it information that would shake the very foundations of the universe? Would our world be thrown into chaos if the secret behind YUMBO were revealed? Is the YUMBO mystery woven into an intricate web of lies, deceit, government coverups, aliens, and unexplainable magnetic wave anamolies deep under the Earth's crust? Is the Illuminati at the head of all of this? Is this another one of their sinister plots to erect an oligarchical world government, often prophecied in the past by senile old men in 5,000-page books but now, finally, finally coming true? Would knowledge of YUMBO save our race from enslavement by malicious fifth dimensional aliens?

I told ya that Padma posted Yumbo and then numbers! Maybe it is the pet of Sid or something (although wasn't that his nickname when he was young? It's like Indiana Jones, his dog was named Indiana but he stole the name!). So emu, still think people like me should be shot?

edit: when i clicked on the submit reply button i thought it said something about elvis or something in the box thing that comes up when you hit the submit reply button. it most likely didnt but that was wierd.

Ok, here's the real story: During internal PtW testing at Firaxis, the developers would give each other a hard time for getting beaten by the AI. One developer (who shall remain nameless) was often singled out for his (or her) frequently less-than-optimal play. During one chat session when the team was hounding him (or her) relentlessly, he (or she) replied with "Y don't U just MYOB" (Mind Your Own Business)...this became a common retort, and was further abbreviated to YUMYOB. YUMBO was just a typo that someone made at some point, but it was easier to say and to type so everyone just started to use YUMBO.
