This is certainly terrible news for all the foreign exploiters investors. Perhaps the CIA should overthrow the legitimate government to save them from socialism.

Because the only thing it will do is make those black minority corporations that still work within Zimbabwe leave Zimbabwe, impoverishing the black majority population even further.

Er, Rhodesia was the breadbasket of Africa before Mugabe came in, and even then it was still good until the land redistribution.

Dude its Africa. You only get one guess.

Besides, I can't find data post-1990 that includes race.

Oh so you support a more authoritarian approach? The government should seize the companies and their assets outright? I like the way you think. :hatsoff:

Sorry the rest of the world helped make Zimbabwe an international pariah?

Well when the British or Zimbabweians of British descent gave power to the majority in the Lancaster House agreement it was one of the richest happiest nations in all of sub-saharan Africa. Good infrastructure, a strong economy it was called the "bread basket of Africa". Now its one of the worst countries on Earth to live in. It was Mugabe and his party which did this to there country not Britain.

The world isn't sorry, that's why it has decided to starve the socialists out rather than help them. The great thing about these situations is that they so readily expose the imperialist joke for what it is: its not humanitarianism, and the "aid" going there is nothing more than a token "look at what I've done" gesture. If the world gave two [craps] about helping places like Zimbabwe, the "worst place to live on earth," then this would not be an issue. But they don't, they care about politics, demonizing the party in power, and holding out for a regime change so they can make money there again.

For whom? It was also a country ruled by 2% of the population, who routinely and systematically denied even basic things to the other 98% of the population based almost solely on their race.

This is ridiculous. But it won't last. The Zimbabweans are only hurting themselves. Everyone remembers land reform? Zimbabwe is a semi-arid country, so in order to successfully cultivate crops the Rhodesian farmers developed complex irrigation systems for their farms. When they were kicked off their land, the very first thing the black tribesmen did was sell all the irrigation materials for scrap. As Zimbabwe is now struggling to feed their own people, they have invited the Rhodesian farmers back unto their land (they can't own it, and they must pay the government 20% of all profit).

Well I when I said "sorry blah bla" I meant it in a different way but anyway.

China opened itself economically 30 years ago. Now it is 3rd or 2nd largest economy in the world. South Korea poorer than Sub-Saharan Africa after decolonisation opened itself and now it is rich. There are many examples of poor countries being "exploited" as the left put it but actually its investment and this investment has made these countries prosperous.

The black population had certain political rights like the right to vote on the "B" electoral vote which iirc accounted for 15% of the seats in parliament - now they have zero representation. Black Zimbabweians were far, far better off back than, than they are now and that is the only relevent measuring stick to judge it by.

See how screwed up things get when you try to cure the ill effects of multi-culturalism. They should have never let non-blacks step foot in the country.

Add me to the blame-the-British-colonizers bandwaggon. If we'd have only broken their souls more... Much, much more... Then they wouldn't have the spirit left to do such foolish actions.

I think the only option left for us to morally do would be to re-colonize and sort everything out.

It's not racism and discrimination when it's the white devils who's being discriminated against :nono: Right? Right...?

    :lmao:

It amazes me how many people actually defend something like this. If say, Australia, passed a similar law against non-white minorities, people here would be literally running over each other to condemn it.

Anyway, are there even any whites left in Zimbabwe? I'd guess that after years of ethnic cleansing, only those with suicidal intentions still remain.

Sorry. I missed the part where it is the right of white foreigners to own nearly all the valuable industries in an overwhelmingly black country.

It is right for any citizen no matter what their skin colour to own as much of the valuable industries as they can in such a country is it not?

I'll leave the "right" or "wrong" of racially-based quotas to someone else. Telling the rest of the world to not invest capital in Zimbabwe is beyond stupid.

If Zimbabwe had an economy, this would surely have destroyed it.

A law along the lines of requiring 51% of the workforce in Zimbabwe employed by the company must be black would be defensible.

White people, according to Wiki, make up 0.433% of Zimbabwe (just under 47,000, out of 12.5 million)

This is not the first time whites have been discriminated.
"In 1999 the government initiated a "fast track land reform" programme. This was intended to transfer 4,000 white farms, covering 110,000 km² (42,470 mi²) of mostly prime farmland, to black ownership. The means used to implement the programme were ad-hoc and involved forcible seizure in many cases."
