I made this for my Thomas' War mod:
Some python involved.
Djenne as a center for trans-Saharan trade increases commerce on local desert tiles. Additionally - inspired by the communal festival of maintaining the mosque - building The Great Mosque of Djenné lowers the cost of cathedrals in all cities.
