Aquaman was created in 1941 by Mort Weisinger and Paul Norris for More Fun Comics, which was later merged into DC Comics. The son of a human and a lost Atlantean, Arthur Curry was born with great physical strength, the ability to breath underwater, and a telepathic link to all marine life (commonly known as "the ability to talk to fish"). Arthur grew up to claim the throne of Atlantis, which had sunk millennia ago. He was a founding member of the first Justice League of America, a respected member of the international community, and the punchline of a million jokes about ineffectual superheroes.
