Have you ever run into the problem of not being able to find a source of water, when your settler has found a resource rich location? If only there was a river or lake that was near by for your settler to establish a new city. Now you can have that resource rich location and solve your water problem! Introducing, The Water Well.
The Water Well is a new building that can be built in the Ancient era. Once you have built the Water Well, a small python function adds a new land feature on the city square called: Underground Water. This underground water feature acts as a source of water that allows you to irrigate the 8 squares that immediately surround the city. The water from the water Well allows your city grow faster, as both animals and crops will flourish. Additionally, the abundance of water from the Water Well increases the health of your people. Thus, the Water Well becomes a vital necessity that can turn a slow growing or otherwise dry area in to a thriving city.
Here are the attributes of the Water Well:
1. Cost: 60 Hammers
2. Food: +2
3. Health: +2
4. Bonus: + 1 Health from Cow, pig, deer or sheep.
5. Creates a source of fresh water
6. Fresh water bonus does not obsolete.
7. Can build after discovering Masonary.
8. Prerequisite Techs: Mining and Animal Husbandry.
