Partenope Class Torpedo Cruiser 2016-10-05

The Partenope Class was designed by Carlo Vigna. It was an improved version of Tripoli and an economical type of small, steel-hulled cruiser. The class originally had a fore and aft rig with 2 masts. Only the Partenope and Minerva were converted to minelayers later in 1906 and 1909 respectively.

The particular functions of the Torpedo Cruiser class of vessels, or the "torpedo chaser," as she was familiarly known, are to chase and destroy torpedo boats, to act as torpedo boats themselves when opportunity presents itself, and as Lookout and dispatch vessels in fleet operations. To this end they are to be provided with batteries of numerous quick-firing guns of sufficient power to penetrate any unarmored vessel, with very high speed, and with efficient torpedo-launching apparatus. In addition, the machinery is protected by a judicious arrangement of the coal bunkers, in combination with thin armor plates.

The file contains all the sounds and pcx files. Model is not my own creation because thierry_st_malo made it. Wyrmshadow provided the animation files and Ares de Borg did the sounds. I merely put the pieces together and cleaned up the model for CivIII and added some what if pieces. A big thanks to everyone that helped out!
