The Vietnam People's Army – VPA is the army of Vietnam. The name People's Army is due to President Ho Chi Minh set to the meaning: "born from people, for people to fight and for people to serve". In the Vietnam People's Army, Ground Forces haven't been established the Command, all of the ground troops, army corps, military districts, specialized arms belong to the Ministry of Defense (Vietnam), under directly command of General Staff (Vietnam People's Army). In the context of the Vietnam War (1959–1975), the army was referred to as the North Vietnamese Army (NVA).
