This mini-pack provides two warriors and a scout for Indian civs. Bakuel's own description:
Spoiler :The first real civilization in the Indian sub- continent was the Indus Valley Civilization (often referred to as the Harappans). They flourished between 3300-1300 BC and then fell into decline. This was probably because of the invasion/migration of Indo-European groups from the Northern Plains, but there could have been other factors at work as well. Nonetheless, the Harappans had a complex civilization which produced a lot of symbols and religious imagery and iconography which would latter be used in Hinduism.
The Indo-European Invasions/Migrations (1700-1300 BCE) are controversial to say the least and much has been written about it. It most certainly did happen most everyone agrees, but how damaging was it to Harappa civilization? Was it a total collapse event or a gradual decay? Was it a quick conquest or a slow migration? To throw a wrench into the fix, even though many of the major cities seemed to have fallen into disuse, much of the material culture which archeologist have branded Harappan persisted until around 1000-900 BCE. Also some Late Harappa cities such as Pirak were inhabited between 1800 BCE up to the time of Alexander the Great in 325 BC. Probably the decline of the Harappa civilization was similar to that the Mycenaeans, with most of the cities/palaces falling into disuse but some surviving like Athens and Pirak. Typical bronze age collapse syndrome.
Nonetheless, the Indo-European Invasion/Migration(s) had a drastic effect on Indian culture, bringing widespread iron use, the chariot, and the mixture between Indo-Aryan and Harappan myths and religion would give birth to early Hinduism.
The Indo-European Invasion/Migration(s) would lead to the Vedic period in northern Indian history. Much of the culture of this period is primarily known through the Rigveda (composed around 1700-1100). The Rigveda describes semi-nomadic Indo-Aryan tribes which traveled throughout the Indo-plains raiding cattle and making war with each other. Needless to say, this is the culture of which would give rise to the great Indian epics. However, around 500 BCE, agriculture was becoming more important again leading to a largely sedentary lifestyle and the repopulation of cities leading to the Pre-Mauryan period in Indian history and the first which is covered in my units.
Spoiler :The warriors come with alternative versions that use different animations. The alternative ones use the Incan UU animations while the normal ones use the vanilla animations. I never really liked the vanilla warrior animations, the head and neck do some strange things in the fortify position. The vanilla model has long hair so it covers it good, but short/tied hair/bare necked models suffer with these animations. Most wouldn't notice or care that much, but small stuff like that bugs me.
It's up to you of course to use whichever version you think best.
