Repeated Sirtori class. From the latter differed in new 102mm guns with longer bore (45 against 35clb) and replacement of 40mm AA MGs by 76/40mm guns. Because of increased weight of new artillery it was necessary to shrink number of main guns from six to four, however at the expense of placing of part of them at centre line the side salvo was not moderated. In 1929 all were re-rated as torpedo boats.
