Giusssano Class Light Cruiser AA Conversion 2016-10-05

The Giussano-class light cruisers were built before World War II for the Italian Regia Marina, to gain predominance in the Mediterranean Sea. They were designed by general Giuseppe Vian and were named after military commanders of the Italian Mediaeval and Renaissance periods

In 1936-37, when it became evident that the new 90mm anti-aircraft weapon might come into service in the near future, studies were begun into the feasibility of converting the Giussano Class into anti-aircraft cruisers, as they were no longer considered to be first rate ships. In June of 1938 a plan was presented that considered removing all of the original 152mm armament and replacing it with two twin 135mm/45 guns. (The same found on the Capitani Romani Class) The rest of ship would be used to place 90mm guns. The bridge would be rebuilt as well the tripod mast would be removed and new directors mounted above the bridge.

The ship has been designed to look like the original Royal Navy plan for the class. The file contains all the sounds and pcx files. Model is not my own creation because VonDos created it from Subsim. Wyrmshadow provided the animation files and Ares de Borg did the sounds. I redid model to reflect the AA conversion for CivIII. A big thanks to everyone that helped out!
