Pike men are disciplined troops wielding massive poles that they brace on the ground to counter cavalry charges. The Clan of Embers has no need of these formations; they have Ogres. Massive brutes swinging around tree trunks, they can send cavalry flying with a single swipe. Unintelligent, even compared to Orcs and Goblins, it doesn't take a great sage to realize when a company of cavalry is charging you, you'd better strike hard and fast.
