Solomon P. Waters was, in the eyes of the ruling white class, a Negro, and while they might classify him as a dangerous man and the creature that haunts every white child's boogeyman story, Solomon was in fact a kind and gentle man, that has never hurt a fly much less a white child. Nonetheless he joined the march on Richmond simply because he felt it was the right thing to do, and he continually pressured his protesters that they can handle this without violence, and thus it was Solomon who has ensured that their march onto Richmond was bloodless and efficient. But when you have a large group of some 10,000 people, many of them poor and broken, in a residential area in Richmond that is amongst the most wealthiest areas in the Confederacy and is also home to many of the Confederate Politicians, including President Josiah Bailey, not even the most strong willed man would be able to resist the temptation to go on a rampage and thus did some 1,500 poorer elements of the protesters go on the rampage. Solomon watched on helplessly as members of the Home Guard marched into the area and without preamble or warning, fired on the plunderers. Even some of Solomon's more peaceful protesters were shot down in the massacre.
Several days later with the Home Guard maintain watch over the proceedings the remaining members of the Protesters, now calling themselves Negro Liberation Party, camped just south of the Capital and watched as Josiah Bailey informed the public of his intentions to keep the Communist threat from spreading by supporting their neighbors to the south, in Haiti. Now to most southerners, they had no idea where Haiti was or that it was even ruled by black people, but Solomon knew, he was himself from Haiti, sold to the Confederacy when he was a young boy and Haiti was still under French rule. So he told his compatriots and they began to mill about and grow more inspired about the Confederate Government actually listening to their message.
After Josiah Bailey returned to his mansion, Solomon stood upon the stool that represented the "Party's" platform and proclaimed that the Negros were disillusioning themselves that the Confederates would eventually see things their way. He glanced at the Home Guard, always close and within listening range, he proceeded, the Confederate involvement in Haiti is simply a defensive measure, it is our governments way of using the black people to do the hard work of keeping Confederate sea lanes free of danger and weapons. God strike me dead if the Confederacy will not simply abandon these Haitians when the Red Terror moves on to another location. The crowd grumbled, not believing this strange black man but some of Solomon's more close friends managed to convince part of the group that the man speaks the truth, eventually the party split into two, but remained in the same camp, simply because the Home Guard would not let them leave to another part of Richmond, they were told to either leave Richmond or move to the outskirts, neither of which would further their cause.
Over the next few days, as details of a meeting of powers in some country in South America, and Confederate responses to a power play in Mexico become apparent Solomon continued to preach and lecture his followers into reasonings behind each move and diplomatic response. Eventually more and more followers joined Solomons party, and the Home Guard became worried, they ordered Solomon and his illegal "party" to leave Richmond or he would be arrested. Solomon refused, believing his Party is now strong and the Confederate Government is starting to listen. So the next day, 1,000 Guardsmen entered the camp and ordered the arrest of Solomon, they searched for him in all parts of the camp, but he seems to have simply disappeared. So the Home Guard arrested his Lieutenants and and dispersed his "party". The Home Guard and the Politicians smiled inwardly, they have handled the protest and soon the Lieutenants would be dealt with. A man hunt was ordered for Solomon and the Government continued along with their business.
Meanwhile in some undisclosed location, Solomon preaches to more Negros and even some poor whites sympathetic to the Negro cause.
