A few things of note from the Prehistoric Era that I have encountered so far:

The homo sapiens sapiens and homo neanderthalensis units: what's wrong with simply using Modern Human and Neanderthal as the names, which have the advantages of being shorter and more memorable. After all, you have Captive (Neanderthal) and Neanderthal Warrior, so why the tonal shift to taxonomic names there?

Denmark is missing its adjectives on the scoreboard (e.g. "the Denmark Provisional Authority"), when of course this should be 'Danish'.

The plural of domus and insula should be domus and insulae, not 'domuses' and 'insulas'.

The Platypus, Toucan, Small crocodile and Moai are missing their Civilipedia text entries. (There are probably others too.)

The gather/worker actions 'build a Abatis', 'build a Palisade' and 'Upgrade to gatherer' appear in-game exactly like that. Both 'build' and 'gatherer' should be capitalised and there should be an 'an' before Abatis.

The attached RAR file contains ten XML files from the Assets/XML/Text folder, which I edited with notepad++ to remove lots of extraneous line-breaks. I'm sure that this is only a drop in the ocean, but just check out the new Rubies and Sapphires Civilipedia entries for an example. :)

Edit: Files from the 17th August version (rev. 7833).

I think it may have been my comparison program that was putting in the extra line breaks when I was merging in the various translations. I did not notice at the time.:(

edit Now do I just trust your changes and put them in or not :D When I did a compare some files are not changed at all and some have lots of changes.

No changes in Azure_GameText_Civilopedia_Quotes.XML or CIV4GameText_Third_Traits.XML

Well, there are a lot of line breaks, all over the place. Those are just a few that I identified in that massive pile of text XMLs. The files are from the latest non-SVN revision, but if those files have been altered on the SVN in the last fortnight, then you might have a slight problem, yes.

This has been in since SO's Prehistoric NWA. I personally think they should just be named Band of Humans and Neanderthal.

Thanks. Will fix.

I've dived into the pile of /XML/Text files from the latest SVN revision (7937) and edited these files to remove endless amounts of line-breaks. That's almost all the files starting with A through to F now checked.

The Driedfish, Driedfruit, Driedmeat and Energydrink files all have the same placeholder text and need to be adjusted.

The Lighthouse workboat improvement is for some reason called "A Lighthouse", leading to text such as "... will destroy the A Lighthouse".

The buildings "Babel tower" and "Gladitorial School" should probably be "Tower of Babel" and "Gladiatorial School".

It is called "A Lighthouse" because if it is called "Lighthouse" the pedia fails and confuses the building and improvement showing the building when you select the improvement. The pedia works on the actual text displayed not on the tags so the name of things has to be different.

How about calling it a "Pharos" then? That's the Greek name for a lighthouse, hence the Pharos of Alexandria.

The Immunitydrugs, Mechs, MedicalTricorders, MegastrongAlloyWares, MetamaterialWares, Microgenerators, Nanogenerators, NovusChemicals, OrganicPhotonCells and PlasmaGenerators files are all empty, or contain filler text as above.

I also have some more corrected /XML/Text files, attached below.

Pedia works on the TYPE tag not the TEXT.
Since when does it fail for items with the same name.
Great Engineer is both a unit and a specialist.

Always! Change the text and everything is fine. We had the problem first with two units called Jaguar then with the building and the improvement of the same name.

Obsolete post.

Here are the last few files from the XML/Text directory, with those endless erroneous line-breaks removed. RoM_Nanobots, RoM_Thermal_vent, ShockwaveEngines, StimPacks and SuperstrongAlloyWares are all empty. In addition, the folder has a lot of very small files (1-10 Kb each), which could probably be merged relatively painlessly.

These archives now contain the new French amendments from update 7968.

Someone already upload these changes?

I don't think so. I certainly can't.

Sparth has already done it and alberts2 has corrected an introduced error of mine. :)

I can merge all these small files in one big.
C2C loading time should be little faster after this.

These are all the files that I found that could be easily merged. You may wish to look through and edit them, add others or suchlike.

I am not sure merging text files will improve anything.

If you do merge keep the pedia and strategy entries in a different file to the name entries.
