english units get additional moves on water.
an english trireme has therefore 6 moves total.
This is only the case when moving them manually.
If you set them on automatic exploration, they forget their additional moves and move the standard 2 fields per turn.
attached is a save file.

I have had several kaspersky-crashes while playing civ, allthough civ continued to run without a problem... Am using Kaspersky 2011, haven't had problems with 2010 before...
I am running DX9 from the beginning (still have WinXP) and am experiencing the panning freeze still. Therefore it is not DX10-only. Maybe Win7+DX9 works better, though... can't test it.
turn 56. Started in the centre and had +1pop goody hut and +30 culture (went for +1food). That gave me first riders around turn 35. Since during my previous tries it allways took longest to actually locate the last civ I went for 3 scouts this time. Had three armies - only riders. Sometimes you...
I think my last post might have been a bit misleading. "High German" is what somebody in the past once defined as "Standard German" or German. Anything that differs (compared to High German) is a dialect.
Don't forget that Bismarks german isn't that perfect either. There where two sentences...
Well, High German (or Standard German) is spoken very much as it is written. I believe it is mainly spoken in the middle of Germany (around Hannover?) and is said to be "the purest" form of german. Bismark seems to try to speak this formal german... allthough this is probably what you learn in...
I used to have trouble with game crashes during diplomacy (usually happened when I had too many different leaders contacted during one game session). What helped me was switch from Full-Screen to window-mode - no more leader crashes at all. This is a bit annoying, but it worked for me.
(I still...
Pösewicht? That's nearly Monty Python... at least it's translation :) "Werft den Purschen zu Poden!"...
... southwest... that sounds so american... "the american southwest" or "I'm from the Westcoast"... the german southwest must be Baden-Würtemberg; I am located in the capital of your eastern...
Well, calling Bismark's German "perfectly good" gives it a bit too much credit (IMO). As mentioned earlier, he is using words not used normally in this context, and I had two sentences where I couldn't really figure out what he wanted to tell me. Further, he is making odd pauses between his...
I can't believe they "forgot" some texts
a savegame is attached as follows.
Go into the reply-dialog (not the quick-reply).
There u find an icon above the text that looks like a paper-clip right next to the icon with the smiley. If you click the paper-clip another dialog will open...
added sentences in german to my initial post...
Well, I am a native german, but even I couldn't figure out some parts of what Bismark is talking about... :)
this works in any game, where you have a unit in a city and another unit that still has moves left:
1. Deactivate "Auto Unit Cycle" in the Options / Interface
2. Activate the unit in the city
3. Select "Garrison in City" for this unit
The game will automatically jump to the next unit...
no - reinstalling is a bunch of work and won't help you. The freeze is a bug, which I hope will be fixed some time in the future (they haven't announced it in the next patch, therefore don't get your hopes to high) - until then, everybody experiencing the freeze will have to either play on...
