Thanks for the heads up. Completing my order now. Hope it works with steam. Just backspace the voucher code and add the last letter, works well. Confirmation says release is July 9th, so maybe those of us in the US won't have to wait for the international date.
Do almost none of France's former cities have trade routes? your workers are sitting around might want to look at that. Don't build Angkor Wat, you have Kreposts. Nice snag on Hogia, and Norte Dame.
Well for starters that's rifleman on Japan's part not infantry so you're in slightly better shape. You're not going to win this one culturally though without some major changes. (maybe not at all). For starters France is going no nowhere so move all you units to that narrow isthmus where your...
Maybe, on Immortal + you need to win culture victories in under 300 turns, so that works out to about 10 turns a policy. 21 is pretty long. Given you start it would have been better to have opened tradition (even though liberty is more powerful in vanilla) and you definitely should have gone...
Upload a save file, and let one of us play through it. If it's on Prince I'm fairly confident you could salvage something out of it. Turn 253 is a bit late though, how fast are your policies coming in. Less than 10 turns or so? I almost never play culture but I think that's the consensus on what...
You can sometimes get settlements for doing absolutely nothing, except DOWing and taking the diplo hit. IIRC the peace depends on the strength of your military and only slightly on its proximity. So if you joint DOW and your ally is successful (reduces the target's military strength making you...
In answer to the OP. Catapults now have a weaker base strength than comp bows, but they have a siege promotion that provides a 200% (or maybe it's 100%) bonus when attacking cities. So even though it technically has less strength than a comp bow it actually does more damage. What G&K changes is...
I haven't had time yet to try a swordrush on G&Ks, something to do with taking 9 credit hours plus working, but the best plan is to hook up luxury resources and build 4-6 warriors and when you research iron working sell the luxuries (they go for about 240 gold on standard) and upgrade your...
MadDjinn already has some previews up, I think 2k also did a play through on Monday, and someone here may have a link to that too.

Try playing on a large Pangea or Fractual with maxed civs and CS, it has a lot of the same craziness but just enough room that you can usually get a second city or third city in, of course a large map takes longer to play. You might try increasing the civs on a standard map to about 12-14 and...
I've seen Polynesia become a dominate civ twice on Pangea maps, once on king, and once on immortal; however both times he started on the corner of the map and was mostly protected by mountains and was able to net a sizeable income from spamming cities on all the islands that no one else messed...
Depends on the level, it's definetly feasible on Emperor and below. On Immortal and Diety AIs will spam cities and tech fast enough you may atucally want to get rid of the unhappiness penalty while fighitng by taking a few turns off conquest and rushing for SBs, also depends on the map...
When you're microing for building settlers it's useful since your city can't grow anyway, other wise if you have the happiness it's better to let the city grow since increasing the pop adds science plus tiles yeilds, this is true until you reach a certain pop where you start to run specialists...
Kill them first. :) Plus on King if you are going for a science victory and stay focused you should be able to have a sizeable tech lead just from your own cities and some RAs (if you're at war w/ the whole continent then you may have to meet civs on the other one, always a good plan) Check out...
Yes they do, if you watch the composite bowman shoot the swords its' pretty clear they do have a -50% penalty. Included a screenshot but it's not very high quailty.
I'm pretty excited about combat taking longer, via more hp and less insta, I think it will make the game more enjoyable, though...
