Excellent. After about an 8 month break, I'm ready for a bit of Civ V and I know the game has changed a lot since the early days.
Thanks to all involved. I look forward to reading the guides.
That's what a strategy forum is for, no? No discussion would pretty much render this place useless.
As to the second point, if this isn't the place for you then why are you still here?
:crazyeye:
Thanks a lot for those corrections theabyssal. It seems I mangled a few but did okay with some others. It's very difficult to go Thai --> English. I find that simple things like "เสียใจ" or "แล้ว", etc. don't really have good...
I'm looking forward to giving this mod a go. Without delving into fancy stuff like mathematics or logic to support my feeling, nonetheless I do have the feeling I'll still be able ICS in a disgusting way.
The proof will be in the pudding as they say.
Thanks for putting the time into this Dale.
Kamino had 3 or 4 unbelievably quick Diplo wins with Siam in the last Gauntlet Game. They're an exceptionally strong civ for this.
Babylon would be too but I haven't had the chance to play as them yet.
Siam and England are very nice to get out of your way early. England ICS'd my ass last night and I had to go Diplo victory. There was no way I was going to wade thru' all those cities.
I hope people aren't putting me in the wrong category here. I *liked* saving SPs, the two exceptions being when I'd do a straight ICS or go on an Honor rampage. I definitely liked having the choice and it seemed fair enough to delay taking an SP because there was a great big button on the screen...
The use of 'you' for Ram is a bit off for sure. In some cases you could argue it's used appropriately (e.g. to indicate that he's been pwned by another civ; to indicate he's on friendly terms with another Head of State; etc.), in some cases not. With Thai it extends much further than a simple...
But you're absolutely right tho'. AI could be made to:
a) be generally better at everything; or
b) at least copy what the human does (save SPs, beeline techs, etc.)
and the game would be a lot harder. I'd be back at Prince difficulty no doubt.
I know they're okay but I choose not to play them.
Unfortunately this means I have to see Bismarck's ugly head when I conduct 'diplomacy' (the Germans are in *every* game I ever play for some reason).
