    Babylon Deity

Babylon can get to crossbows much faster than anyone else (build three slingers, find some gold). Then it’s just a question of whether you want to take over the world, because you have to screw up pretty badly after that to ever be threatened again.

    Civ VI Funny/Strange Screenshots

Sadly I failed to capture this live, but it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. On turn 3, a barbarian camp appears directly next to the nearest tribal village. On turn 4, meteorites fall from the sky and OBLITERATE the barbarian camp. (Oh yeah, and Paîtiti was a couple turns...

Which Civ4 Wonders of the World Have You Visited?

Some of these are reasonably abstract (e.g. Broadway). From the 17 I ticked, the clear winner is Angkor (Wat) -- but noting that call is partly because it is just one of many temples in the immediate area. I spent two days cycling around and roaming through every last bit. I recommend seeing...

Which Civ5 Wonders of the World Have You Visited? (Pt 2)

I GOT THE FULL SET! Thanks for splitting the poll perfectly to allow that :)

Which Civ5 Wonders of the World Have You Visited? (Pt 1)

16 in this thread, including giving Petra its first vote above. Which makes a total of 25, as I am 9/9 in the other thread! From your “impossible” locations: Great Library (OK, only the modern one now in Alexandria) Great Lighthouse (well, stones from it are re-used in the port fort) Oracle...

Which Civ6 Wonders of the World Have You Visited? (Pt 2)

8 for me, plus that solitary column of the Temple of Artemis in Turkey. As noted, I can tick off the Temple of Zeus, but not the Statue thereof.

Which Civ6 Wonders of the World Have You Visited? (Pt 1)

This set is a bit more niche. Only 9 for me, plus The Oracle.

Which Civ4 Wonders of the World Have You Visited?

17! And somehow the only respondent to get to the Tah Mahal.

What civs from Civ6 that still exist have you visited? (Part 1)

17 (OK, 16, if you remove the transit in Moscow)… and somehow I’m the only one to nominate the Mapuche. No one has ticked off the Kongo: I got within a few kilometres of the DRC when gorilla-spotting in Uganda, though.

    Opinions about Diplomacy (mod research)

My main complaint is that once you get friendships/alliances it’s very hard to lose them, no matter how evil you are to everyone else. I guess if you’re a pure builder type you’ll like that advantage, but it does take a big edge out of the game, as does the inability to back-stab friends...

[LP] Leader Pass: Duel of the Devs - 4/12 Livestream Discussion (Hosted by Kevin Schultz)

When Ed finds out that Carl ranked the Roman invasion as third priority behind the barbarians and actually planning and building an empire… gotta be deflating. That volcano yield porn was brutal. Don’t think I’ve seen such a brutal demolition by a City State since one of my Civ 5 games… Needed...

[LP] Leader Pass: Duel of the Devs - 4/13 Livestream Event Announcement

I may be a savage re: understanding every mechanism in the game, but it annoys me badly in these streams when they save the kills for the city bombard…

In theory I could go conquer a city, and eventually become smart enough to move that settler somewhere they can actually settle.

Aaaaaaand that bug is still there.

Look like an entirely justifiable city state kill to me! (But could have settled one spot SW to get all of the boosts?)
