Looks like you need a big navy with two fleets of frigates and privateers. One for the atlantic and one for the pacific or take Mastricht and use it as the panama canal
I make it a point to try and deny them uranium before they get the Manhattan project or as soon after that as I can. If you have a bigger stick them them they usually wont attack even with nukes and the few times anyone has they really never last long then as I make it a point of nuking them...
Dunno why everyone dislikes Cathy. We get along fine in every game she is in. Alex however just has to show his stupid face on that prancing horse and he is instantly marked for death and/or humiliation.
Why did you take tradition AND liberty? From the amount of cities you would have been better going tradition > rationalism > order with maybe a couple of sp in patronage or commerce while waiting for rationalism.
Not had much experience but from what I have had and reading here I would say...
Don't understand why people always want to play peacfully it's more fun bashing the AI anyway.
Plus if you play right in my limited experience you end up with more gold than you can use and an army big enough to beat up anyone. At first I struggled but this forum soon put me right.
Go...
My best science games have always been where I went full tradition then rationalism while going for growth like a madman. 4 Size 30+ cities by the end game give insane beakers.
Then when I can open order I do and start puppetting like mad. If happiness permits I will puppet sooner but it...
Just keep refusing until they offer you something decent. This can as you say go on forever but then who cares if they are not doing anything to you and they may be helping to level up your units which is always worthwhile. Sooner or later they will weaken themselves enough that another AI...
Theo is probably one of the most duplicitous leaders in the game. She will smile at you one turn with nothing but green in the diplomacy mouse over an then nothing but red in it next turn as she tells you she never really liked you.
You should trust just as far as you could trow any of her...
5 is more than enough but it does depend on when you settled them. Are you running specialists in every science building? this is why I said go for growth. Getting those cities up as high as possible gives more science. High food yield means more specialists = more science. If you think...
I think I have tried most combinations now and this seemed the best for me. I think I might try the patronage and Aesthetics again though as I didn't realise what it gave me the first time I tried it. Instant friends with all CS if I promise to protect them sounds like something to try...
Not tried this still wary of Emperor. But did I miss something? When you move up to emperor is a 2 scout opening a no no? It's what I currently do on King and then scout for all it's worth. Those 15 or 30 gold from meeting CS and the odd sneak a barb camp from under the nose of the AI is...
I am guessing you neglected your military early on which is why you got drawn into a war.
Even so on prince you shouuld still be number 1 in literacy playing Korea. As it is You have everything you need for a science win provided your bpt is 400+ if it isn't you need to 2 things I would think...
The better players on this forum havbe been right quite a bit for me. They say it's easy to get all the wonders you just let the AI build them then go take em off them... you know what they were right :D
Building more than one or two just wastes hammers. Of course you may be without many of...
