I'd quite like some sort of official recognition that my DVD wouldn't play due to over the top copy protection and some sort of clue as to when to expect a patch and what, roughly, it will cover. Not too much to ask is it?

There seem to be a few issues with the European DVD not being recognised: I managed to install the game from mine but it refuses to actually load and play the game.There are some work arounds which work for some people but not consistently: I'd suggest having a little mooch through the threads...

Some improvement... still throws the error message but it does it within seconds rather than minutes and still recognises my DVD drive afterwards!

Well, I'm off round a friends house to borrow his potrable DVD drive this evening and see if that helps. Is this solely a European issue btw?

Still not working. Gone beyond furious... particularly as uninstalled Civ3 and I can't find the disk now! Got Conquests but need the bleeding Civ disk. Grr. time to catch up on my tax form I guess.

Nero?!? Oh FFS, that's bloody ridiculous! I work as tester for a handset manufacturer and it makes me smile when I read mobile phone forums and people are saying "They just use as beta testers" because believe you me, if you saw the beta s/ you'd know it, but this time I really do feel like it...

If I can't resolve it by Monday I'll return it and buy again when they get it sorted... hit them in the pocket even though it'll be a ball ache getting it back to Amazon. Some sort of SNAFU with the copy protection I guess.

Same here... I get the feeling this is a British issue (as its DVD) so fairly new and inconsequential to the support people. It's left me looking for a No-CD fix as well.
