Ya it's not modded it just happens to be similar to you starting on England and have to settle America. I named all my cities on the island with english names. I would just abandon Washington (London) once you get a few cities on the better continent, to move the capitol.

Thanks for the tip. I wish I saved screenshots and wrote a story but all I have to say is that I was about to lose to a cultural victory from the pinca when I completed the united nations and won the vote. They had 97,000 culture and were getting 900 per turn. Post here how it goes if you play it.

Thanks for doing the story I really enjoyed it. And wow 74 hours. I only took 29 hours and I didn't win until I was researching space flight. And I thought I was micromanaging, but probably not as much as you. Or you just left it on.

I played it again and won by domination in 1942. This time I was faster to invade the mainland, and also built cities in between other AI cities that had no culture, and hurried temples in mine. Then I abandoned my capital to move it.

Yep you'll want to win by domination or space race or diplomatic. I don't think cultural is possible because the land is so bad.
