I don't really get the SE without pyramids/rep. I mean, it really doesn't take long for a cottage to reach 3/4 commerce (riverside) and once you get Monarchy you can spam even more of them. Lastly maintaining a large military in a SE is difficult, without running caste (and thus not having...
Yeah it's not feasible most games. Maybe with charismatic leaders (Boudica would be best) it can be done with 1 GG and a bit of fighting, otherwise at least 2 GG + fighting.
Julius I've never found to be aggressive. I've had him as my only neighbor once before and I had little power and he was cautious to me whole game. Never declared. Try spreading out your cities so the BFCs don't overlap much. On non-isolated starts it's not a bad tactic anyway due to better...

Looking good. My only advice would be to settle Medina 1 tile NE. Yes you need to get a monument out to get the clam, but long term that is stronger and short term it gives you two (each way) trade routes via the river.
That's pretty much true. With the exception of the machine-gun era (pre-tanks, pre-artillery), sticking a bunch of defensive troops in a stack in a city just doesn't work against a comparable stack (technologically + numerically) with siege.

Thanks. Yea nukes are a good way to go. The AI is even worse with nukes then it is with conventional military and for some reason they don't like Fission.
It's really hard to pick a winner out of Huyana, Hannibal, Darius and Willem. Willem's problem is that the Dutch are a water civ, but creative is less useful on archipelago. Incans are just super strong even without Huyana's traits. I'd say Darius is the best though as he has 2 traits that will...
