I am a little bothered they decided to make another civ that is essentially Greek, on top of already giving Greece an extra leader especially when Byzantines are inevitable. Leaving aside civs that aren't represented, if we're going to get that particular it feels like India should get another...
Disappointing they didn't use Sumerian, seems strange there was an attempt to use a Sumerian term though. The units in Civ IV had dialogue but I don't know if they used Sumerian for that.
I never really paid much attention to the quotes, but some of them are obviously pretty bad. Is the travel blog quote on Kilimanjaro from a dev's friend or something? Not knocking her(?) but the quote isn't particularly stand out even in context and the Kilimanjaro mention is only incidental...
Late game SMAC terra forming's what we really need, followed by mind worm invasion. All after future tech of course. More seriously choosing (and/or staggered starts) would be a nice optional feature, if only for quality of life (I know we don't have spaceships in 4000BC, AFAIK).
I sincerely hope that Firaxis never ever creates a British civ to encompass Ireland, especially not on the the centenary of the 1916 rising. In perspective even terms like "British Isles" are somewhat despised by many in Ireland and an inclusion of Ireland in a UK civ would really only serve to...
2D backgrounds and stylisation are fine if they're redirecting their efforts, but the backgrounds they're currently using just look crap and a bit incoherent.
Gaulish civ is a better idea objectively, I'm only talking about my selfish desire for the Irish or Gaels to be a playable faction in some form. Obviously the last option would be ideal but realistically two Celtic civs would be too many in an already European dominated game, so on a personal...
I'd rather not see Boudicca for the third game in a row but otherwise I'm easily pleased. I'm fine with the Celts because a blob civ is the only chance we have to be in the game anyway.
Overall the leaderscreens seem to be lower budget/less background detail so that they're less work intensive to create than V's. Yet at the same time we're still only getting 18 civs in the base game, so unless they reintroduce multiple leaders per civ I'm pretty disappointed with them.
Really? I feel like these are just a step down from V's, in particular the detailed scenes have been replaced with a leader standing in front of a somewhat muddy looking picture. If a lower development overhead means more leaders than V that's fine, but comparing just leader screens from V and...
I don't see the Zulu being replaced, they are to Civilization what Jigglypuff is to Super Smash Bros. (i.e. totally irrelevant but traditional to the series).
