    Off Topic reorganization

Hmm, an interesting idea, I think I could take to it.

    GE doesn't pay taxes

It's completely aboveboard and legal, get mad at your politicians for making the rules, not GE for playing the game. Also, there's probably no company better positioned to deliver "green" power technologies than GE so I don't know where that little rant came from.

    JFK murder 'transcript' unveiled

If 10 people have each done 20 years of research it's considered 200 years of research.

Is this the beginning of the end for the nuclear power industry?

I think we should stick to safe forms of energy production, like petrochemicals:

    NCAA Football 12 on PC?

That would be good news. I loved playing those on PS2 but there's no way I'd get a modern console.

What states will emerge/remain as a world power in during Climate Change age?

    Secession talk from Arizona

This is by far the least reputable of several new-state secession movements. What's the economic viability of the region? The University of Arizona is the only thing that comes to mind. A place, I would assume, that receives the majority of its funding from the rest of the state's...

History questions not worth their own thread III

Modern trains use diesel internal combustion engines. It goes beyond the ability to make small engines. Internal combustion is far more efficient than steam.

History questions not worth their own thread III

The only advantage of the steam engine is that it can be made to use pretty much any fuel/heat source. Today we still see them as steam turbine engines/generators using nuclear or solar thermal energy sources. The steam piston engine is definitely a goner.

Mathematics can estimate the date of Adam and Eve

No numbers are not numbers. Numbers in this sense represent data, fact. If you use false data you get false results.

Japan's financial position at the start of WW2?

Nevermind that oil in Manchuoku does little good with a destroyed merchant marine and subsequent inability to get it to the planes and warships that require it.

If the American colonies had stayed loyal ?

The Revolutionaries were inarguably liberal in the original sense of the word, not today's bastardized version.

    Daily Happenings thread - POLL

I think CFC OT isn't Twitter and shouldn't be treated as such. If something is sufficiently worthy of discussion it can have its own thread, otherwise tell Facebook.
