I just wanted to say that I'm having problems, too. I did a fresh install of the game on a fresh install of Win 7. Game runs fine. SDK doesn't. Even the beta version. It seems that many people are having exactly the same trouble.

I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong or how it's supposed to work. I have tried to install this mod both manually and automatically through the in-game download. When setting up a new game, I cannot find any map or scenario titled "Standard World Map" or "Standard World Map DLC".
Although Orthoceros' idea is novel, I don't think it will work very well. I've been toying with the idea of a spherical hex map for years. And I've concluded that a hex map with 12 pentagons is the best way to go. A game designer would just have to deal with that problem using brute force...
I am having this same problem. I've confirmed that the oil resource located on a water tile does not appear in the DX10/11 mode but does appear in the DX9 mode.

Is there still a flaw in the game that requires shortened names? For me, that was infuriating. The designers of the game should have had the foresight to account for large games. I was praying that 3.17 would have fixed this major problem. Has this not happened?
