    Favorite "Builder" Civs?

I enjoy playing as Australia, and it's not just because that's my own nationality. Well, not completely. Occasionally you'll get some crazy bonuses for plopping down campuses on the coast near reefs and a geothermal fissure. It's such a rare combination but when it happens it is marvellous...

    curved screens

I've got two 32" Dell screens that have a bit of a curve on them. I already had one with my old computer and when I upgraded last May I bought the second one. No problems with either one so far, and the screen resolution is teriffic. I will say though, that Windows 11 sucks with respect to...

Not living in America is a Denouncible Offense!

It's a bit rich to have Kupe telling me off for polluting in the Ancient Era. I've seen what the Kiwis eat, they're much more responsible for gas emissions then my guys are.

    Civilization VII Wishlist

So let's drag the Civ series back towards "game" and away from "simulator". Let the player choose their Leader not from a miniscule list, but from anywhere they like. You want to be George III ruling England? How about Lenin ruling the Soviet Union, or Peron ruling Argentina? Let the player...

    Most interesting or fun Mechanics

Inland Sea, perhaps? The map is pretty much the same all the time, just with different wiggly bits around the edge of the water. They would still have to use land forces for the Civs that start further out from the sea, but they could flourish quite nicely. Added bonus they won't settle on...

    How deal with Mongols?

I think the OP is playing from the same saved starting position (turn 1 I guess), so the Mongols are always going to be in a specific position.

Refugee from Civ 5 - HELP NEEDED - is there a way to fix this game?

Zigzagzigal's guides over on the Steam community inferior board are worth a look if you're just getting your head around how to play. Click here --> Zigzagzigal's guides I find all sorts of little nuggets of information there about Civs I haven't played in ages, or strategies for certain...

Can you turn off or reroll names? Japan in China Sea

I agree, but open it right up for all features. Rivers, volcanoes, bays, cities, islands, continents - let's rename everything to whatever you fancy. There was an old space strategy game for the Amiga called "Supremacy", and if the computer player captured one of your planets, it would rename...

Can you turn off or reroll names? Japan in China Sea

Well, you can manually change the sea names in the appropriate xml file, but it's a bit of a hack and not really recommended. Make backups and all the associated precautions. You'd be looking to edit the file "Expansion2_NamedPlaces_Text.xml" which is in the "steamapps\common\Sid Meier's...

    Pinning Districts On Map

If you have a couple of cities with similar sounding names (I'm looking at you, Macedonia) then it can help avoid mucking up the placement of a future district. It just serves as a visual reminder what to plonk down at that spot. The post-it note analogy is good.

Help- messed up graphics after update....

Is this graphic glitching happening in a brand new game ? There's a facility in Steam where you can check the consistency of a game's files. If they've been altered or corrupted, it will download a new fresh copy. Steam instructions here...

Warhammer 40K: Gladius (Civ like 4X TBS Warhammer game)

@Blake00 I'd advise not getting it on Steam. GoG has had Gladius on sale a couple of times this year and you can get the whole collection of DLCs for a lot less than on Steam, even taking in to account Steam discounts. I just looked a minute ago, and the whole range currently varies between...

How do you move units to second continent?

That is a good mod. I was curious what the little green exclamation points were after some of my city names (using the mod). It turns out they're sewers, or they could be that that city had grown enough to be able to build a new district. I like @Airey's naming cities for specific purposes...
