You actually can't make a sphericalish map out of only regular hexagons. You need at least twelve pentagons to make it work. Now, I'm not sure how well it would work with irregular hexagons.

What makes these "obvious racial overtones"? Could you read minds? Just being two different races doesn't automatically make any racial overtones. Where are the facts that show what was going through his head at the time?
If you read any of Yahoo's coverage of his trial they made a big deal out of the whole white on black thing. The point is that they only mention race when it works in their favor.
