I am playing Vanilla 1.74 (final version) and im having trouble locating some of the "info" mods for this version. Things i mean are like Sevopedia and ones that add info to the game interface but dont affect any gameplay. I have seen some for 1.61 and warlords, but im right in between. If...
Won a space race victory on Civ4 vanilla, patched to 1.74.
OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
Movies started to play but then stopped, the image of the spaceship is there but like its paused or something, the sound still plays though.
If anyone can help me fix it i would be very grateful....
1)Trade for health giving resources you don't have
2)Conquer territory containg health giving resources you don't have
3)Research Genetics
4)Research Future Tech
5)Build Recycling Centres and Supermarkets if not already built
Hope this helps.
Cottages are an effective way of producing commerce whether you are financial or not, just moreso if you are financial. Personally, (being of questionable ability) i cottage my commerce cities to death whether im financial or not.
Happy is going to be of concern in this game, no Hereditary Rule, only 2 :) resources visible so far, no stone for the Pyramids (Representaion) a religion or 2 merely for the happy (temples) maybe worth considering.

Mysticism/Meditation/Priesthood/Writing would be my suggestion.

As for the tech research, and this is only a suggestion, if you are...
If there is a bonus resource in the BFC it will be on the grassland with the tribal hut on it, in my experience the computer doesnt select a resource to put the settler on top of. I'm pretty sure i've never seen the infamous blue circle appear over a resource.
By moving the settler you
A) risk moving away from the food resource which will be there somewhere.
B) if you pop the hut with the settler you wont get a technology, now you probably wont anyway but maybe....
Unfortunately your starting techs are as useful as a catflap in an elephant...
I did consider having environmentalism as an allowable civic and perhaps you should allow that, i just felt that the backbone of the American economy was Free Market.
A few ideas:
Civics:
Government
Must go from Despotism to Representation to Universal Sufferage as they become available Hereditary Rule and Police State must be bypassed.
Legal
May not adopt Vassalage or Bureaucracy. (Washington is hardly a hotbed of Industry)
Labour
Must go...
Although not solely restricted to cottages and resource improvements (windmills were allowed on hills, since cottages arent) the closest thing you will likely find is RB9-Cottage Cheese Succession Game
