    Crashes when Gridlines ON

Yep, exact same problem for me, GF6800 Ultra w/256MB, Athlon 4000+, 2GB system RAM. Ridiculous - cause I _never_ had so much as a flinch before installing Warlords.

Warlords: In stores tomorrow or Tuesday?

Actually a lot of stores get the games / hardware in early, so that they have it on the release date. The release date is set so that no store gets an advantage over any other store just because they received their shipment early. It provides a level playing field for all merchants. Still, like...

GalCiv2 makes life tough for Civ4

I agree - Civ IV is well polished, and very easy to play. Note - I'm not saying it's easy to master. :) The UI in Civ had a huge overhaul from III, and that I think is the reason why I'll probably play Civ IV more than GC2. But, GC2 is a fairly simple game with very few rules to learn - Civ...

    How to conect this resource?

Maybe build a coastal city on the island?

Build up of troops alerts AI?

One thing that could have happened is that yes, the AI was preparing for a war, but the buildup somehow triggered the AI to go to war. How? Possibly the AI has enough intel on your cities (through spies or religious missionaries) to see that you're emptying some of them out. Lower defences left...

    Safedisc still pathetic.

One idea for these game companies would be to issue an official no-dvd patch a year or two after the game is released. Most (I've heard upwards of 90%) of the sales of a game happen in the first month, so they don't stand to lose much by doing something nice like that a year or two down the...

    Random Seed Question

It's in an XML file you can modify, not in the game UI itself. I can see how reloading to alter the outcome appears to be cheating, but perhaps that person is still learning how to play the game? Given the steep learning curve and literally hours of time one can invest in the game, I can see...

    Where is the World Builder?

I think you have to start a single player game, then open the menu in the upper-right corner and select it from there.

Alone On The Island---can´t Make It. Advice Needed.

I think that's very close to what we had around 300 A.D. or so - when the Roman empire converted to Christianity, the entire European world was more or less united under the one religion, while the as-yet undiscovered Americas had many different Indian civilizations each with their own...

    Gradually slower tech tree

I'm trying to remember how Civ III worked - did earlier techs take longer than later techs to research? I seem to remember that as you advanced the rates would speed up, but then as your empire grew larger and incurred more waste costs, you would have less coin to throw at research and would...

Why is there double culture for buildings in this city?

This I actually don't understand... in both games I've played so far, I've built Stonehenge, but didn't notice a change in the world map after building it. What exactly does it do that "centers" it?

how to propose a 'open border' trade ?

Also if the leader you're negotiating with doesn't like you, Open Borders will appear in red on their side, and you won't be able to propose it as a trade item.

    First crash!

Yeah, I suspect a memory leak as well. It is quite evident that this game is a very heavy consumer of resources, because I too have some lag when zoomed all the way out and have lots of cities / units. Hopefully, if this is a memory issue, it'll be easy to fix. :)

    First crash!

First off, I know I'm a newbie here, so just to give you a bit of background - I gave this game a 10/10 review on Gamespot, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I did, unfortunately, just experience my first complete system lockup while playing the game... and I have a top of the line rig to boot...
