Request for Tips on my saved game.

In general :gold: buildings take much longer to pay back their cost, purely due to how easy it is to get :gold: from selling older techs to AIs.

Civilization IV Hall of Fame Era Challenge

Yeah, when i had more time to play HoF games were fun even if i didn't summit most of them. Just comparing to other people help me learn alot. In fact just checked the table and I still have 2 spots on the Table. If anyone wants an easy target those are good ones to aim for hehe :p

You need a world builder save, and then edit leader, to get minor civ do same but edit civ and change the starting techs.

When to let go of Stonehenge?

I agree, to be honest thou if I decide to build it its generally harder on IMM then Deity, the extra city + units can often reduce barbs to a non-issue on low land map script such as Pangaea. Usually if i build it, I'm playing Louis and culture trolling the AI for fun :crazyeye:

Hard maps (either naturally or minor alterations) are semi-traditional for IU, ie TMIT added in a minor civ on one iirc, I gave the AIs deity starting techs and units on a map that had nice land for us to make it more challenging one time. I also generally rerolled any start i thought was too...

I don't either of us thought you meant SiP, atleast I didn't. From the SS there are still possible places for seafood you would block by settling on Marble if you didn't scout them by moving NW on to Hill.

I agree thou depending on how much weaker it made your capital, what seafood it was ie Fish is worth more, if it was coastal or ocean I may still settle in a way to lose it anyway. I like De Gaulle too, and as i didn't get far in last IU I'll see if i get more time for this one :)

Minor Civ leader, photo is Sid, ie creator of civilization. Sid has no traits what so ever, Minor Civ has all starting techs but no UU or UB.

    Minor slavery optimization

True, the other possible way is if you can't improve the corn the turn the worker is finished, ie have to move thru a forest, as no growth delay then :)

    Minor slavery optimization

An extreme example would be, your playing China, you have a riverside Corn, and rest of BFC full of forest. BW would be your first tech, if it finished researching before the worker (your first build) finished the farm on the Corn you are only losing a single unimproved tile + city tile + palace...

Also Granary is useful enough that even if cottages aren't needed you MAY still tech Pottery anyway. With Catherine whipping Settlers is nice, so regrowing is fairly common.

A small question - cotteges vs workshops vs windmills

The only points I'll add to lymond is that in captured cities in the later game, if its not matured to a town, or isn't likely be worked and become a town somewhat soon I often will then bulldoze over them, also if replacing mines/cottages (since AI likes to build them on hills too) with...

Till 3000BC Turn 6 I meet Darius to the south. Turn 10 I meet Gilgamesh to the east. 2 religions already gone and neither of the AIs I've met so far have them, also my scout got attacked by a panther out of the fog and is currently healing. After Agriculture, I decided Mysticism...

Move scout either 1S2W or 2S1E to see what I lose/gain moving 1W and settling to make a production capitol, probably moving place later to a commerce spot for CS. Probably have time to play this tomorrow before family stuff, if not I'll try at some point before RL gets crazy again :)

    K-Mod: Far Beyond the Sword

Not looked at the code for along time but I recall that karadoc made it so that the new civic had the value of the old civic removed from it so the AI realised it was losing the old civic bonuses. This allows it to better determine if the new civic is really better (before this it only saw what...
