    Does anyone use forts?

Cool idea, but a mod for that would require some extra graphics.

    Do you reload when fighting?

I'm just the opposite. If it's early game and I get attacked by hordes of barbarians, I sometimes get pissy and do reloads. Late in the game though, I feel it's my fault if I'm losing. So I'll either just deal with it or restart.

    [MOD] Ultimate Strategy

About tech conquest. It might be a nice counterbalance to have the civ losing the city gain a tech boost. It sounds counterintuitive at first, but think about it this way - when Alexander the Great's armies swept across the world, they brought with them a lot of Greek culture and achievments...

    New ZOC mod... Need ideas...

I got this idea when I was watching the history channel... maybe it would be possible to make it impossible to pillage improvements within the cultural borders of a city containing a castle.

    The MapView Project - Editor/Viewer

Great work. Requests: Clear all resources button. (Useful for redistributing resources on say... an earth map.) Support for oasis/fallout/flood plains (but I'm sure you were already gonna add that in.) Ability to edit all the info that comes up in the tabs, as if by text editor (and then...

    Lost Wonders Mod

cure for cancer should be a commodity, like hit singles. Make building the cure give you 7 commodities that provide +1 health and +1 happiness.

Longbowmen or Crossbowmen to Protect against Pillagers and City-Siege?

    fortified axeman vs praetorian 5 + 50%vsmelee + 25% fortified vs 8 5+75% = 8.75 vs 8. Fortified axeman for the win.

    Deity for the win!

My advice for anyone trying this sort of scenario would be the following: 1. Early on, build a large army, and when it is sufficient to win a victory, attack. 2. Make a beeline for your 'victory tech' and when you have researched it, put all resources into increasing your treasury. 3. Choose...

    Deity for the win!

Leader: Ryan of Persia Score: 53675 Finish Date: 60 AD Game score: 1428 Victory: Conquest Difficulty: Deity World Size: Duel Starting Era: Ancient Game speed: Epic My enemy was Asoka of India. The way the game played out was basically this... I researched animal husbandry, and luckily, horses...

    Earth Map (180x87)

farmable resources on hills are not useless. they provide a food bonus even if not farmed. they also provide the resource if you build your city on top of them... although, the rice on the hills does look a little weird. another thing that I noticed that hasn't shown up in the game by itself is...

    Earth Map (180x87)

Hehe... well, I am running smoothly till about 1600. My specs are: AMD 64 X2 4400+ (running real-time on one processor @ 2.21 GHz) 4MB OCR low latency RAM XFX nVidia 7800 GTX SB Audigy 2ZS Platinum 6,111 MB paging file on a partition of its own. In otherwords... I really don't see why...

    Earth Map (180x87)

if you don't want the game to have preset starting locations for any player, delete all the data in between all the beginteam endteam and between all the beginplayer endplayer That *should* work. I'm also modifying the map. I love the geography of it, but there are a few things that don't...

    Earth Map (180x87)

I'm gonna clog up this board :-P The game as the incas continues, and I'm at 1874 now. The rivers and wealth boosting resources in South America are a huge boost. I managed to buy the Kremlin, and since the entire continent of south america is producing huge amounts of commerce, I shot way...

    Earth Map (180x87)

Tried again as the incans. Their starting location sucks. Big time. First off, if you don't move over, your city contains coastal squares but can't build a lighthouse. Secondly, if you do move over, there isn't enough food to sustain a large city. Then there's the massive amount of jungles in...
