Thanks for some great suggestions. How does paying tribute work? Do I just "trade" a lux for nothing...or give gold? Bribing the AI sounds reasonable but probably depends heavily on your start i.e. do you have gold/lux/other stuff the AI wants...also regarding bribing a civ to go to war...
